What is MS?
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that randomly attaches the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild such as numbness or tingling in the limbs or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. MS is a "prime of life" disease, as most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40. The unpredictable physical and emotional effects are lifelong. There are over one million people with MS in the United States alone, and someone is diagnosed with MS virtually every hour. Twice as many women are affected as men.
